The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) has a zero tolerance of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH) both within the organization and of beneficiaries. Prevention of and protection from sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH) is the individual and collective responsibility of all NAC officers, management, staff, consultants, and volunteers, who are all required to familiarize themselves with, agree to, and act in accordance with NAC’s Ethical Guidelines and Commitment, NAC Child Protection Policy, and NAC PSEAH Policy, at all times – both during and outside working hours – and participate actively in introductory and refresher trainings. Any breaches of PSEAH clauses in NAC’s policies, guidelines, and/or commitments will lead to immediate termination and possible legal actions.

Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

IT Related Tasks:

The IT Officer shall assist the IT Department personnel and the NAC staff by performing tasks related to remote IT support to NAC reginal offices across Afghanistan and Kabul Main office including traveling to NAC regional offices in the provinces for network set-ups, internet connection installations and providing other desktop support to NAC regional offices as well as Kabul country office staff.

  • . Install, configure, and maintain personal computers network cabling, systems, disk drives, printers, and related equipment in at NRO office.
  • Support, train, and advise users on SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Google Apps
  • Ensure that all IT equipment in NRO office is functional and ensures their proper and efficient use by training the concerned staff members.
  • Develop systems and procedures to ensure timely repair/maintenance of the IT equipment in the NRO office.
  • Monitoring proper power and environmental conditions for office technology equipment.
  • Monitoring and managing the performance of all or part of the network and performing reconfiguration work as required.
  • Assist the operation team with the computer hardware inventory of the NRO Office
  • Assist the procurement department in purchase of the IT and communication-related equipment.
  • Respond to IT support requests, recording detailed diagnostic information.
  • Should have teamwork and close cooperation with all IT staff.
  • Note: The priority will be given to the local community
 

Job Requirements

Languages Required:

 

  • Fluent in English
  • Fluent in Dari
  • Pashto is an asset

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field

 

Work Experience Required:

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in the Information Technology field
  • Microsoft role-based certificate in SharePoint, Microsoft Team, or any other related Microsoft 365 role-based Certificate and industrial certificate CCNA or CCENT.
  • Enough experience in managing SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Team platform
  • Experience in Google Apps and Google workspace.
  • Excellent knowledge of virtual platforms like Microsoft Teams, WebEx, Zoom, etc.
  • Capable to install, troubleshoot, configure, and operate medium and large size networks.
  • Ability to configure and implement Remote Access solutions
  • Experience in Computer Hardware repairs and maintenance.
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience in IT Desktop support
