Job Description

To contribute to a reduced morbidity and mortality associated with malnutrition, diseases and hazards resulting from deficient (or non-existing) health and nutrition services, environmental health conditions and protection environment in conflict-affected communities in Kandahar and Zabul provinces – Afghanistan.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver effective and appropriate Hygiene sensitization/awareness.
• Ensure that quality standards are considered during the planning and implementation of the Hygiene Promotion sessions as required.
• Collect technical information pre and post the hygiene interventions in collective shelters and private accommodations to report to supervisor for the analysis of hygiene associated risks and opportunities in the targeted areas.
• Should have ability to provide trainings to the field staffs (CSMs) and mentor / assess their capacity of delivering message in to the communities.
• Provide the targeted population with technical inputs and guidance on water, solid waste and sanitation facilities management, use and maintenance.
• Manage the Hygiene promotion related logistics, equipment and materials.
• Ensure that community/beneficiary feedback are collected and reported on regular basis.

• Mobilize the local communities to change behavior regarding hygiene practice
• Support CSMs for Community on awareness raising through home to home visits and distributing IEC materials. 
• Close supervision from hygiene kits distribution and make sure that every beneficiary received the entire package of hygiene kits. 
• Organize community dialogue session on WASH promotion behavior issues in close collaboration with community elders, health Shuras and NGO staff;
• Compile and generate the training reports conducted in province.
• Should have ability to make internal refer cases particularly to Case worker.
• Holds self-accountable for making decisions, managing resources efficiently, achieving and role modelling Intersos values
• Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
