The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) has a zero tolerance of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH) both within the organization and of beneficiaries. Prevention of and protection from sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH) is the individual and collective responsibility of all NAC officers, management, staff, consultants, and volunteers, who are all required to familiarize themselves with, agree to, and act in accordance with NAC’s Ethical Guidelines and Commitment, NAC Child Protection Policy, and NAC PSEAH Policy, at all times – both during and outside working hours – and participate actively in introductory and refresher trainings. Any breaches of PSEAH clauses in NAC’s policies, guidelines, and/or commitments will lead to immediate termination and possible legal actions.

Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities

 (Please provide requirements that are specific to the position and are not typically included in a general job description):

  • Assisting with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties
  • Providing clerical and administrative support to Human Resources executives
  • Compiling and updating employee records (hard and soft copies)
  • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc)
  • Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
  • Conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees.
  • Ensure smooth communication with employees and timely resolution to their queries.
  • Collecting staff monthly time sheet
  • Checking the staff attendance book
  • Follow up with personal leave records and updating.
  • Follow up with daily attendance records and report back to NRO HR Officer
  • Preparing monthly attendance reports and share with respective department for further checkup and review.
  • Follow up with requirement plan according to assigned task from NRO HR Officer
  • Creating and distributing documents
  • Recruitment/New Hire Process
  • Preparing short terms contract
  • Participating in recruitment process
  • Scheduling job interviews and assisting in interview process.
  • Ensuring background and reference checks are completed.
  • Preparing and creating new employee personnel files
  • Maintaining current HR files and databases
  • Updating and maintaining employee benefits, employment status, and similar records
  • Maintaining records related to grievances, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
  • Performing file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained.
  • Completing termination paperwork and assisting with existing interviews.
  • Update HR databases (e.g. new hires, separations, vacation and sick leaves)
  • Develop and maintain a filing system.
  • Update and maintain office policies and procedures.
  • Maintain contact lists.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the related supervisor.

Note: The priority will be given to the local community

Job Requirements

Languages Required:

  • Fluent in English
  • Fluent in Dari
  • Pashto is an asset

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
  • Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations.

 

Work Experience:

  • At least 3 years work experience in HR field.
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
