Job Description

Job Summary

The HMIS/Pharmacy Officer is responsible for overall management of the Pharmacy and HMIS affairs activities in Target provinces (Collecting, Analyzing data, Pharmacy Stock, Warehouse, Supplies and Reporting) with technical assistance from provincial project coordinator and related project staff.

He/She works closely with proect team to prepare orders based on the needs, maintains appropriate and standard drug stock management, supervises the distribution system, and provides technical assistance to the project team.

 

Job Description

  • Establish a well-organized drug supply Management at project Level
  • Review and analyze project drug requests and share them with supervisors and other technical staff.
  • Estimate drugs needed for implementation of FATP and MHNT based on standard guidelines
  • Prepare Drug Order Request for FATP and MHNT based on need on quarterly base
  • Receiving essential drugs for FATP and MHNT from OCCD main office and other partners considering the appropriate receipt procedures.
  • Maintain standard and appropriate storage of the FATP and MHNT essential drugs in pharmacy stock
  • Maintain a computerized data base of FATP and MHNT essential drugs in the Pharmacy Stock.
  • Maintain proper records of the Pharmacy Stock receipts, transfers, and disbursements
  • Maintain stock cards and balance sheets in Pharmacy Stock
  • Assist the Logistic Department in procurement of medical equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure close partnership, collaboration and coordination with BPHS NGOs pharmacy officers in overall activities.
  • Provide technical assistance to health/nutrition team in preparing drug orders.
  • Follow-up with health/nutrition team to ensure that drugs distributed to team are being properly stored and used.
  • Dispense medicine and medical supply to FATP and MHNT team
  • Doing regular Monitoring /Supervision of pharmacy/HMIS activities
  • Prepare monthly action plan, weekly and monthly activity report.
  • Prepare stock condition report on monthly base and submit it to project coordinator                       
  • Attending coordination meetings
  • Ensuring the availability of HMIS tools and province provide update HMIS forms to FATP/MHT
  • Collecting, analyzing and verifying the HMIS data and provide monthly HMIS report
  • Attending HMIS task force committee and present project progress
  • Follow up with HFs code with HMIS department
  • Provide HMIS training for HF staff

Job Requirements

  • HMIS/Pharmacy Officer must be graduated from a well-known Faculty of Pharmacy or nursing school
  • At least 2 years responsible experience in the Drug Supply Management of development and HMIS in  health project
  • Good communication skills (written and spoken) of Dari, Pashto and preferable in English
  • Demonstrated skills in health project management and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to travel to the targeted districts and other related districts when it is required.
  • Ability to support provincial team and provide/receive constructive feedback
  • Knowledge of planning/organizing/communication skills
