Job Description

Job Purpose: To Support all health facilities

Main Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Support all health facility staff for improvement of skills and work progress.
  • Provide expert opinion on technical and management issues as the need arises.
  • Carry out those tasks, which are necessary for operational and skillful interventions.
  • Supervise and provide on the job training on technical issues to all health facilities staff
  • Develop or updating guidelines, norms, standards and curricula.
  • Review HFs report before submitting to Kabul or regional office
  • Will do HFs and project managed staff appraisal as per IMC HR
  • Developed job descriptions and check lists and other technical documents based on the program need.
  • Will provide support and participate health surveys, rapid assessment subject o instruction.  
  • Plan seminars on various health topics e.g. HIS, TOT, management, supervision and monitoring etc.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to Nuristan, Kabul and Nangarhar subject to project need 
  • Participate in task force working meeting and workshop at regional and provincial level
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures and objectives; continuous quality improvement initiative; safety, environmental, and infection prevention standards.
  • Identify and report immediately any problems which interfere in the delivery of services or in achieving the program objectives to office.
  • Ensure planning, implementation, supervision/monitoring and coordination of health activities granted by donor.
  •  Monitor and supervise the progress of training, EPI, IEC, community health development and pharmacy.
  • The project health officer will follow IMC standard security and staff safety policies and procedures strictly
  • Will update Kabul and regional security department immediate after incident and before any anticipated incident 
  • Will work closely with field office security department for staff travel to field and coming to office
  • The project health officer will be responsible for overseen pharmaceutical supplies consumption, report, stock cards and request
  • The health officer will participate PHCC, PMDC and other ad hoc meeting in the province and regional health cluster meeting. The meeting main points will be shared with Kabul office
  • The health officer will present IMC project progress in each community level, provincial level and regional level meeting in appropriate manner

As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.  Conducts work with the highest level of integrity

  • It is all staff’s shared responsibility and obligation to safeguard and protect populations with whom we work, including adults who may be particularly vulnerable and children. This includes safeguarding from the following conduct by our staff or partners: sexual exploitation and abuse; exploitation, neglect, or abuse of children and adults at risk; and any form of trafficking in persons. 
 

Job Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • The candidate must be a Medical Doctor, graduated from a recognized Medical Faculty.

Experience: 

  • The candidate will have three years’ working experience in BPHS/EHPS project or similar health projects
  • The candidate will be able to travel hard to reach district of Kunar and Nuristan provinces
  • The candidate will have good human and communication skill

Competency : Fluency in local languages in required, Computer proficiency will be added advantage
