The purpose of the BHA-funded FRAMES II Health and Nutrition component aims to enhance physical and emotional well-being outcomes for women and children under 5 in challenging-to-reach communities. This is achieved by offering access to high-quality, integrated lifesaving health, nutrition, and MHPSS services. FRAMES project will bring about medium-term change in marginalized and hard-to-reach areas by ensuring equitable, inclusive, and safe access to health and nutrition services for vulnerable groups. This includes providing lifesaving health and nutrition services for populations not covered by BPHS, engaging various stakeholders to deliver integrated malnutrition treatment in communities and health facilities, and establishing gender and disability-inclusive WASH facilities in health centers.
This full-time, grant-funded position directly reports to the Project Director and is dedicated to managing and offering technical leadership to the FRAMES Consortium partners (WV, ACF, and CRS) in their Health and Nutrition interventions as well as coordination with relevant MoPH department as needed. The role is field based in Herat, Afghanistan, with frequent visits to remote field sites in Faryab, Ghor, Herat, Badghis, Badakhshan, and Kabul Provinces.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
Humanitarian context knowledge and experience. Experience in developing action plans, preparing curriculum and training/orientation materials. Experience in documentation and reporting. Experience working with community leaders (Community Based Structures) Experience in adult learning methodology and monitoring of training activities. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work as part of a field team. Very good communication with communities and local authorities. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local cultural context. Able to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural context, stressful environments and with limited resources. Cross cultural sensitivity, flexible views, emotional maturity and physical stamina. Demonstrable experience in child protection, child rights, PSEA, AAP Interpersonal, management and conflict resolution skills. Results oriented and good team-player. Good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet use and Lotus Notes.
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
Bachelor of Public Health or MD.
