Afghan Youth Services Organization (AYSO) is a National Afghan NGO registered in 2006 with the MoEc of Afghanistan with the registration No :397.AYSO since came in to being has develop ,successfully implemented and provided direct assistance services in different   sectors such as health ,educational ,Capacity building ,GBV Prevention and Response ,Peace, Justice Research and Surveys human rights and awareness projects and programs with the technical and financial support of several UN Agencies such as UNDP ,UNICEF,WFP and WHO,AYSO has implemented projects with government ministries and departments as well as has been being implementing partner with AAH/USAID ,FHI,BARC,AADA,HEWAD and other National and International Organization

 

Job Description

General Summary: The Head of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) will report directly to the General Director and hold overall responsibility for all M&E activities within the organization. His role will involve designing, implementing, and overseeing M&E systems to assess the effectiveness and impact of AYSO's programs and projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and establish comprehensive M&E frameworks and systems for all programs and projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
  • Implement robust monitoring and evaluation processes to track project progress, outcomes, and impact. This includes defining key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring data collection and analysis, and producing regular reports.
  • Take active part in studies and assessments to inform evidence-based decision-making and improve program effectiveness. This involves conducting surveys, collecting and analyzing data, and disseminating research findings.
  • Provide training and capacity-building support to staff members and partners, enhancing their understanding of M&E methodologies. Foster a culture of learning and knowledge-sharing within the organization.
  • Prepare and present clear, concise, and accurate reports on M&E findings and program impact to various stakeholders. Collaborate with team members to ensure effective communication and utilization of M&E data.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and adherence to established protocols and standards. Implement quality control measures to improve data validity and reliability.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including donors, government agencies, and implementing partners, to enhance M&E collaboration and synergies.
  • Facilitate the documentation and dissemination of lessons learned, best practices, and innovative approaches. Contribute to the organization's knowledge management processes for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that all M&E staff in the main office and provincial offices prepare their monthly activity plans and progress reports.
  • Visit the project sites and all existing departments/units of AYSO at both the central and provincial levels to ensure that all activities are in compliance with the requirements of AYSO and donor agencies and are in accordance with the work plans submitted/approved by each project.
  • Attend all relevant meetings, seminars, workshops and trainings inside and outside the organization.
  • Maintain close working relations with all field offices and departments.
  • Perform any task assigned by the line supervisors as needed.

 

 

Job Requirements

  • MD, MPH is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in monitoring, reporting, and managing data is required.
  • Excellent knowledge of M&E principles and practices
  • Strong ability to synthesize information from different sources, identify key themes and issues and communicate them clearly and direct
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Good knowledge of computer management and applications.
