Job Description

Sustainable Goals Organization of Afghanistan (SGOA) is a non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political organization. Founded with the primary objective of providing quality healthcare, social services, and promoting equal access to development and humanitarian assistance within communities, SGOA is dedicated to delivering exceptional humanitarian services, particularly in challenging and remote areas of the country.

SGOA was officially established on 2020/10/21 and is registered with the Ministry of Economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. SGOA operates within the framework of the country's constitution and holds the Ministry of Economy registration number 5042. Additionally, SGOA is recognized and registered with various humanitarian clusters, including WASH, Education, ES/NFI, Protection, Nutrition and FSAC Clusters. The organization is a verified partner of UN-OCHA Humanitarian Access Group (HAG). Furthermore, SGOA has the distinct privilege of co-chairing the FSAC cluster in the southern region of Afghanistan, a testament to its dedication to humanitarian work. Currently, SGOA proudly collaborates with reputable international organizations such as UNDP, UN-WOMEN.

SGOA's mission is to provide emergency aid and humanitarian assistance to the population of Afghanistan, working within the legal and ethical framework established by the country's constitution. The organization places a strong emphasis on reaching marginalized groups across a broad spectrum of society. SGOA actively responds to both conflict and natural disaster-related emergencies, often operating in challenging and remote environments. The organization's target beneficiaries include internally displaced populations, impoverished families, the unemployed and uneducated, individuals in need of healthcare and legal services, and various disadvantaged groups.

SGOA is committed to delivering quality humanitarian services, particularly in hard-to-reach and rural areas of Afghanistan. Job Description:

The Grants Manager will play a pivotal role for advocacy and writing proposals for SGOA. The Grants Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of projects planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation and reporting He/she will work closely with project stakeholders, local partners, and government agencies to ensure the project's objectives are met.

Job Requirements

  • Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources.
  • Stay informed about funding trends, eligibility criteria, and application deadlines.
  • Proposal Development:
  • Collaborate with program managers and staff to develop compelling grant proposals.
  • Ensure that proposals align with the organization's mission, goals, and strategic priorities.
  • Prepare and submit grant applications, ensuring compliance with all requirements and deadlines.
  • Manage the submission process, including tracking and confirming receipt of applications.
  • Develop and implement systems to ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions.
  • Monitor and track grant-related activities to ensure alignment with grant agreements.
  • Work with program managers and finance staff to develop accurate and realistic project budgets.
  • Monitor and manage grant budgets, ensuring proper allocation of funds to meet project objectives.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports to funding agencies.
  • Maintain comprehensive and organized records of grant-related documents, including agreements, reports, and correspondence.
  • Foster positive relationships with funding agencies and donors.
  • Respond to inquiries from donors and provide updates on project progress.
  • Provide guidance and training to program staff on grant management processes and compliance.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned from successful grants.
  • Identify potential risks associated with grant-funded projects and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Monitor and address issues that may impact grant performance.
  • Collaborate with monitoring and evaluation teams to assess the impact of grant-funded projects.
  • Contribute to learning and improvement based on evaluation findings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including potential partners and collaborators.
  • Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and networking events to stay connected with the funding community.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, relevant laws, and regulations in the management of grants.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations affecting grant management.
