Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Livelihood Assistant with support from Livelihood Officer will support the implementation of livelihood activities planned under Save the Children’s STAR grant. The post holder along with livelihood officer will closely work with project beneficiaries to provide beneficiaries with capacity building and livelihood assistance.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :

The main areas of accountability and responsibility of this post is to support implementation of the livelihood component of Save the Children’s STAR grant in designated province (Saripul). Details are below.

  • Provide support to FSL project officers in selection and verification of project beneficiaries.
  • Assist the community mobilization in effective sensitization and mobilization of communities
  • With Support from project officer prepare training material and design the support to income generating activities
  • Reflect the market demand for skills and products in the design of IGA trainings
  • FSL project assistant will be responsible for daily and weekly reporting to FSL project officers.
  • Participate in monitoring activities and assessment and promote ideas for improvement
  • Coordinate with respective community members and project beneficiaries for implementation of the activities
  • Establish positive working relationships with local communities and government authorities
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor that are within the general scope of the described responsibilities.

  • Prepare and implement action plan for quality monitoring
  • Mobilizing and Making communities aware on project objectives, outputs and activities and MEAL systems and SCI Child Safeguarding Policies.
  • Facilitate project and activities information at all events such as training and workshops

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS 

University degree in development studies, social science, or any other relevant technical credential.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

2 years of experience in the relevant fields

Essential

  • Familiarity with livelihood programming
  • Maturity and confidence in dealing with the staff of government institutions, and communities.
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) in English and local languages, people skill for conflict resolution and negotiation;
  • Computer proficiency, especially related to professional office software packages (Microsoft Office).
