SPARK is exploring the possibility to support agribusiness and food production and processing capabilities in Afghanistan. SPARK will carry out an assessment to determine the key regions affected by food insecurity and the specific conditions and socio-economic situation/factors that lead Afghan citizens to become susceptible to food insecurity. We will pay attention to the major drivers of food security, including food availability, food access, food utilisation and food stability throughout different regions of the country. The general objective is to determine whether there is potential to design a programme to support sustainable food security in Afghanistan by building capacity and scaling activities of tested local (Afghan) partner organisations and scale up domestic food production and processing in the country.
SPARK is an international development organisation with more than 28 years of experience in supporting entrepreneurship development in fragile states. Soon we will start implementing a new programme in Afghanistan.
