Job Description

Job Purpose

Administer EPI services to all children and women according to EPI policy through SHCs/MHTs

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Manage cold chain system according to EPI protocols.
  2. Support the provision of primary health care within the community.
  3. Counsel and educate patients, their families, and the community about immunization and relevant areas of health.
  4. Share knowledge, skill, and expertise with medical, midwifery, and nursing students and all professional staff concerning their job requirements.
  5. Perform limited, select administrative duties such as patient charting, recording, and reporting of data, clinic and/or facility management, or coordination of specific educational or outreach programs.
  6. Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives; continuous quality improvement initiative; safety, environmental, and infection prevention standards.
  7. Identify and report immediately any problem that interferes with the delivery of services or in achieving the program objectives to his/her immediate supervisor.
  8. Participate in weekly meetings of health facilities to share information and discuss the program's progress.

Safeguarding Policy for Staff:

  • Respect and follow the International Medical Corps Safeguarding policy and never neglect, abuse, harm or exploit children, young people, and adults at risk,
  • Report any actual or suspicious harm to the children and vulnerable adults caused by staff and program.

  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct, maintain humanitarian principles, and respect international humanitarian law.

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse:

  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within the International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by the International Medical Corps.

Compliance & Ethics:

  • Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout the International Medical Corps. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.  Conducts work with the highest level of integrity.

Safeguarding

  • It is all staff’s shared responsibility and obligation to safeguard and protect populations with whom we work, including adults who may be particularly vulnerable and children. This includes safeguarding from the following conduct by our staff or partners: sexual exploitation and abuse; exploitation, neglect, or abuse of children and adults at risk; and any form of trafficking in persons. 

Job Requirements

Qualifications

12th grade + have the three months certificate of EPI training or 11 days EPI refresher training /EPI department of PPHDs

Experience

Three months in the same field, preference will be given to the locals of the duty station.

Nangarhar Province Districts:

Dara-e-Noor, Deh Bala, Hesarak, Mohmand Darah, ,Shirzad, Chaprhar, Khogyani, Bat-e-Kot, Kooz Kunar, Kama, Dor Baba, Lalpora, Nazyan, Behsood, Goshta, Sorkh Road.

Kunar Province Districts:

Chapadara, Ghazi Abad, Sarkano, Shigal, Pach Dara, Asad abad, Khas Kunar.

Laghman Province Districts:

Mehterlam, Qarghayee, DawlatShah, Alingar

Competency

  • Fluency in local languages is required.
  • Computer proficiency will be to our advantage.
