About Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA)

SCA Background

The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) has been working in Afghanistan since 1982, presently managing development Programs concerning Health, Education, Rural Livelihoods and Community Governance, with a total annual budget of roughly USD 40 million. The total number of staff is slightly over 7,386.During the last 10 years SCA has undertaken a change process moving from a primarily humanitarian service delivery approach towards more of a developmental role, putting increasing emphasis on capacity development, rights-based programming, and outcome orientation. The mission of SCA is to empower individuals, communities, and local organizations, primarily in rural areas and with particular focus on women, girls, boys and vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, so that they may participate fully in society and influence their own development. Job Description

Scope of Work:

Responsible to predominantly deliver EPI services to women of childbearing age and children. She assumes responsibility and accountability for their practice, applying up to date knowledge and skills in caring for every client and family. She works as a member of a team that includes all health facility staff.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Administer EPI services to all children and woman according to BPHS and EPI policy in fix center.
  • Manage cold chain system according to the protocols.
  • Support the provision of primary health care within the community.
  • Counsel and educate patients, the family, and community about immunization and in relevant areas of health.
  • Obtain specialized  assistance as necessary (consultation or referral)
  • Share knowledge, skill, and expertise with medical, midwifery and nursing students and all professional staff concerning their job requirements.
  • Perform limited, select administrative duties such as patient charting, recording, and reporting of data, clinic and/or facility management, or coordination of specific educational.
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures and objectives; continuous quality improvement initiative; safety, environmental, and infection prevention standards.
  • Identify and report immediately any problem which interferes in the delivery of services or in achieving the program objectives to her immediate supervisor.
  • Participate in health facility meetings to share information and discuss the program progress.
  • Do any other duties assigned by the line supervisor.
 

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

Graduated from a recognized High school (12th pass).

Others:   knowledge of English language at HF reporting level, fluency in Dari and/or Pashto, both written and spoken. Honest, proactive, and well-mannered.
