PU-AMI (known globally as Première Urgence Internationale, PUI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and non-religious international aid organization. PU-AMI’s teams are committed to support vulnerable communities and populations, those marginalized, hit by conflict, natural disaster or economic downturns. PU-AMI’s main objective is to contribute to reduction in morbidity and mortality, and provide emergency relief to those in immediate need in order to help them regain their dignity.
Afghan mission is the oldest of PUI missions, with the first medical intervention launched in 1979 just after the Soviet troops crossed the country’s borders. PU-AMI teams currently deliver the integrated health care, combined with nutrition, psychosocial support; water, sanitation and hygiene (wash), as well as trauma services. The organization implements projects mainly in eastern parts of the country, and increasingly in the South-East Region. Since the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020, PU-AMI has also positioned itself as one of the main actors in preparedness and response to the pandemic, implementing health and wash-cantered activities at health facilities and community level in Kabul and beyond.
Globally, PUI provides assistance to around 6 million people in 23 countries and across 5 continents: Africa, Asia, Middle East, Latin America, and Europe.
Responsibilities and particular assignmentsمسؤلیت ها و وظایف مشخص
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct nutrition screening/anthropometry of anthropometry of all children 6-59 months.
Check appetite tests for all eligible children (SAM and MAM) before registration into the nutrition program and during follow-up.
admission of all eligible children into OPD SAM and MAM program and frequent follow-up until exit from the program as per the national IMAM guidelines.
Fill out the admission card and patient cards of SAM and MAM children.
Ensure comprehensive health checks and treatment according to the protocols for nutrition cases detected;
Regularly conduct nutrition education sessions for caregivers of malnourished children
Regularly facilitating nutrition education group sessions per the health facility's monthly education plan.
Regular follow-up of SAM and MAM in outpatient program.
Regular collection of weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly nutrition data at the health facility level.
close follow-up of nutrition commodities consumption with pharmacy technicians or drug dispensers, and provide reports to the office team in case of shortage, near expiration, etc.
Timely submission of therapeutic food distribution reports on a weekly Bi-weekly and monthly basis.
Development of a nutrition filling system at the health facility level for all data collection tools.
Timely preparation and submission of monthly statistics and stock reports.
Participation and leading the nutrition team during the mass MUAC screening campaign every quarter.
To accurately and appropriately treat or refer eligible children to the nutrition program by adhering to national and international guidelines and organizational procedures.
Referred all Som children with complications according to IMAM guidelines to the nearest TFU with proper documents of registration, refer sheets, and cash voucher in case cash service were available with close coordination of HFs/MHNTs in-charges and other documentation is needed.
Give appropriate nutrition, health, and hygiene education to the beneficiaries and caretakers in individual and group sessions.
Discharge children to specified discharge criteria as per national protocol and guidelines.
Ensure accurate record keeping of all nutrition activities, filling in forms, cards, registration books, and tally sheets as required.
Compile reports as required and requested by the Health and Nutrition supervisor.
Preparing and tracking the list of absent, and deflate with close coordination with in-charge and community workers, health shuras, etc.
Support Nutrition counselors and midwives in conducting regular food demonstrations and provide brief reports on that.
Strength referral mechanism internally between EPI, MHPSS, and OPD consultation.

Qualification/ Requirements تحصیلات و شرایط لازمه
Diploma/Certificate of Nursing approved MoPH with exit exam passed.
Relevant experience
At least 2 years of relevant post-graduate experience in nutrition training/experience (i.e. IMAM & IYCF training or equivalent)
worked with national and international Organizations
have good knowledge and communication skills
Experience in working in remote areas with mobile team setup
Be familiar with HMIS and BPSH services.
Languages
Fluent in Dari/Pashto -oral and written skills
Some English -oral and written skills will be an asset
