HealthNet TPO is a Netherlands based not for profit, non-governmental organization founded on the principle that access to affordable quality health care is a basic human right. HealthNet TPO works with interdisciplinary professionals to develop and implement innovative, culturally appropriate, evidence based public health interventions with a focus on: innovative development of health systems, mental health and  psychosocial care, long and short term training of health workers, control of communicable diseases (including malaria), and health financing schemes. HealthNet TPO offers ground-breaking and unconventional solutions that foster self-reliance and promote sustainable health care that is accessible to all.   HealthNet TPO in Afghanistan aims to improve the health status of the people in Afghanistan by supporting the local communities and the Government of Afghanistan in the development of a sustainable health care system.  HealthNet TPO is working in Afghanistan since 1994, implementing integrated health projects managed mainly by national staff and supported technically by expatriate staff from the headquarter office. HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. Health Net TPO is currently implementing projects in 22 provinces and the major program it implements are Malaria Control program, BPHS/EPHS, C-IMCI , CME, CHNE, public private partnership, nutrition and Mental Health and Psychosocial program through a community system strengthening approach. 

Job Description

    • Support EPI activities at provincial and health facilities level.
    • Ensure timely vaccine supply to the SDPs.
    • Ensure the availability and good conditions of cold chain facilities for delivering immunization services in the health facilities.
    • Build capacity of health facility vaccinators on theoretical and practical job training.
    • Provide technical support to the HF staff during the catchment mapping exercise.
    • Providing support and follow-up on the implementation of outreach and mobile activities.
    • Assess and include all uncovered areas in the plan to cover through this project.
    • Support implementation of RI acceleration campaigns, NIDs, or SNIDs at the target districts.
    • In case of AFP immediately report to the line manager.
    • Preparing, and sharing of target setting for each HF.
    • Ensure program quality control through supervision, evaluation, and impact assessment.
    • Take part in the strategizing of how to improve the EPI services of the health facility and at the community level.
    • Promote a strong focus on quality among members of the unit health facility.
    •  Conducting the related training and job training as outlined by seniors.
    • Supervision the EPI activities in HF and community by regular supervision of HF and catchment area of health facilities at least once per month.
    • Collect all reports from the health facilities and make the initial feedback/analysis with the HF.
  • Training of medical staff (vaccinators) in vaccination on a regular basis and using the training protocol to facilitate the process.
  • Active participation in all training/orientation sessions relevant to EPI organizes by HealthNet TPO.
  • Attend regular EPI and other related meetings at the provincial level.
  • Establish and develop good mutual understanding, cooperation, and trust between HNTPO and the targeted community.
  • Coordination with all stakeholders at the provincial and district levels.
  • Analyse data and track the monthly target with health facilities
  • Ensure adherence to HNTPO policy and guidelines at all stages of program implementation.
  • Perform any other required project–related tasks assigned by the line manager.
 

Job Requirements

  • MD/Nursing or Midwifery degree from a recognized faculty.
  • At least one year of experience is necessary for an MD, and 3 years’ experience for Nurse/Midwife in EPI/BPHS.
  • Having supervision skills, strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to write reports in English
  • Fluent in English and local language
  • Computer skills especially MS Offices (ability to work with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel to remote areas for visits and supervision from outreach teams in the target districts.
