Job Description

  • The Education Specialist/Deputy Manager is accountable to carry out the following key role and responsibilities but not limited to:
  • Follow up the implementation of the Detailed Implementation Plans (DIPs) for all components of the project.
  • Responsible for the financial management of the project.
  • She/he will assist the line manager in establishing appropriate systems/ mechanism to implement the EIE project in partnership with communities and Provincial/ district education authorities. 
  • Participate in Education forum meetings at the provincial or district level and maintain close coordination with implementing partners.
  • Establish links among communities, hub schools, DED and local stakeholders in order to maintain and strengthen the good relationship for better implementation of the program.
  • Hold community sensitization meetings with community leaders, religious leaders, education authorities, and parents/caregivers in target locations on the right to education.
  • Participation in the external district-level education meetings and representing the program in a well manner.
  • Awareness raising to parents/caregivers to enroll children which have already left school due to covid-19 pandemic and conflict.
  • Work closely with communities SMCs and the District Education Department (DED)/ Provincial Education Department (PED) to improve the quality of learning and access to education for conflict affected boys’ girls.
  • Organize monthly and bi-monthly meetings with SMCs, DED and record through proper minutes.
  • Providing technical assistance to MEAL department in the process of project data collection and data management.
  • Report project work progress information to the line manager on regular basis.
  • Provide necessary administrative support in the facilitation of workshops and seminars for potential stakeholders and beneficiaries in the area of the lesson learned experience sharing and challenges.
  • Generate quality project progress reports, quarterly reports, and annual reports, and or as per donor reporting schedule.
  • Keep the records of relevant monthly and quarterly progress reports of the project.
  • Update the filling system daily, weekly and monthly bases with incoming and outgoing correspondence with DED, PED and MOE.

Job Requirements

  • Capacity to write all type of report related to education.
  • Having experience with education projects on national and international organizations in BGL & CBE projects.
  • Demonstrate World Vision’s core values, vision, and mission in all aspects of the role.
  • Build a team of highly committed and competent staff, ensuring cooperation and coordination among relevant staff within the Project.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the overall project.
  • Create a learning environment in which staff regularly reflect, learn from mistakes, and use lessons for personal growth and to revise work plans to improve ministry impact.
  • Ensure that staff and partners understand and follow the World Vision (WV) child protection policy and that awareness-raising on child protection, response, and incident reporting is occurring.
  • Fulent in English, Dari, Pahto.
