Job Description

He/She is overall responsible for the implementation of the project in the targeted sites, The Drug Demand Reduction and Alternative Livelihood Project Coordinator will be part of Kabul SAF office team. Based in Kabul, this position works closely with SAF management team and UNODC, to support her efforts in effective and successful operation and implementation of the project activities in the targeted provinces covered by SAF.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities:

  1. General responsibilities
  1. Act according to the policy of SAF
  2. Keep confidential with issues related to SAF
  3. Develop Spirit of co-operation and understanding among members of the team
  4. Follows SAF's established policies, procedures and objectives; continuous quality improvement initiative works/ performance.

 

  1. Specific Responsibilities:
  1. Overall responsible for the activities related to the project.
  2. Provide monitoring and supervision plans of the project.
  3. Regular and timely supervision/mission to all three provincial female prisons and DICs covered by SAF.
  4. Ensure all three female prison centers and both DICs in Kandahar and Herat are fully functional
  5. Tracking implementation progress of the project work plan, and share with PD on regular monthly bases.
  6. Provide monthly and quarterly project reports and share with program director for his review and further share with UNODC.
  7. Update SAF management team and UNODC on date-to-day operation of the female prison health centers and DICs of the targeted provinces.
  8. Ensure all needed staff (according to the contract) of the project in all prisons and DICs are recruited and fill vacant posts at soonest time.
  9. Ensure availability of update recording and reporting tools and guidelines in all three prisons and DICs
  10. Ensure all medical and non-medical supply and equipment are provided to all targeted prison health center and DICs in Heart, Kandahar and Kabul provinces according to the project contract.
  11. Ensure all activities of vocation training are being executed normally and according the project requirement.
  12. Ensure all expenditures are with close coordination of SAF finance manager and UNODC.
  13. Regular and close daily coordination and communication with program director and UNODC.
  14. Attend all monthly quarter and other ad-hoc meeting in Kabul and with UNODC.
  15. Ensure all procurement process and supply of commodities to project sites are being executed with close coordination of SAF management team and UNODC.
  16. Identifies the problems and makes decision for timely solving of the problems which can negatively affect the project implementation.
  17. Provide substantive support to prepare of relevant technical and training materials, tools and capacity-building packages, participate in workshops, seminars and training courses, and deliver presentations, as required, in line with UNODC’s technical guidance.
  18. Close coordination and communicating with project officer and other stakeholders in Kabul, Herat and Kandahar provinces,
  19. Travel to provinces when necessary to evaluate the needs and monitor the progress of the project.

 

  1. Job Requirements
  1. At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in project management.
  2. Graduated from a recognize university, having health background would be advantage
  3. Experienced in implementation, monitoring and management of women project.
  4. Experience of work in prison would be preferable (vocational training).
  5. Excellent knowledge and skills in providing health and livelihood services for prisoners and detainees
  6. Advanced level of language skills in Dari, English and Pashtu.
  7. Ability and willingness to travel to provincial prisons
