Job Description

The overall purpose of the role:

The overall role of the driver is to drive safely and keep his vehicle clean/in good condition and maintain his vehicle according to the DRC-HDP Transport regulation.

 

Responsibilities: (in bullet points)

  • Ensure that vehicle is used only for purposes according to the order of the relevant officer.
  • Follow the assigned routes for the missions.
  • Keep vehicle clean and in good condition.
  • Check water, a mixture of battery, and all levels of oil on a daily basis.
  • .Drive the vehicle carefully and do not exceed the speed limits and obey all traffic rules and regulations driving.
  • Change fuel filter after every 5,000 km, oil filter in each oil change, and engine oil after every 2,500 km according to the standard.
  • Answerable to the transport in-charge for damage caused to the vehicle due to any avoidable circumstances.
  • Not the travel; on unsafe and unsuitable routes, if necessary, must inform the office immediately.
  • Keep available all necessary spare parts in the vehicle as instructed by the logistic department in Kabul.
  • Keep track of all taken routes and passengers in the logbook. And have the main passenger sign for the trip.
  • Notify in the logbook the taken fuel and its number of liters, the date, and the kilometer reading from the tag meter at the filling of the diesel tank.
  • Report to the log officers or other staff authorized every last day of the duty month to have the logbook copied and ready for the consumption reading.
  • The same goes for all maintenance undergone. All supporting documents have to be in to into the log department or finance department accompany by a copy of the logbook page where changes to the car have been noted.
  • Answerable for all team equipment that transports daily base through the vehicle.
  • Any other tasks that are assigned by the Team leader, 

Job Requirements

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies: 

3 or more years of experience with NGOs

Education/qualifications:

High school graduation

Languages:

Pashto, Dari, and Basic English
