Job Description

Overview:

As a Female Medical Doctor and Head of our (DICs), you will lead a multidisciplinary team in providing comprehensive healthcare services, counseling, and support to individuals accessing the DICs for assistance with substance abuse issues, gender-based violence (GBV), and maternal health needs. Drawing on your medical expertise and leadership skills, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality care, program coordination, and staff management to ensure the effective operation of the DICs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Clinical Leadership:
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for medical services delivered within the DICs, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for clients with substance abuse, GBV, and maternal health concerns.
  • Conduct medical consultations, examinations, and procedures as needed, collaborating with other healthcare providers and specialists to optimize patient care outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, standards of care, and best practices in the provision of healthcare services within the DICs.

Program Coordination:

  • Coordinate the overall operation of the DICs, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation, to ensure the efficient delivery of services and achievement of program objectives.
  • Monitor program activities, client outcomes, and service utilization, conducting regular assessments and evaluations to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
  1. Staff Management and Development:
  • Supervise and support a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, counselors, peer workers, and support staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within the DICs, promoting teamwork, communication, and mutual respect among staff members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address any personnel issues or concerns in a timely and constructive manner.
  1. Community Engagement and Advocacy:
  • Serve as a liaison between the DICs, community organizations, government agencies, and healthcare providers to advocate for the needs and rights of individuals affected by substance abuse, GBV, and maternal health challenges.
  • Engage in community outreach, education, and awareness-raising activities to promote health equity, harm reduction, and access to care for vulnerable populations, particularly women and marginalized groups.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of medical consultations, treatment plans, and clinical interventions in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Prepare reports, data summaries, and program updates for project management, funders, and other stakeholders to demonstrate the impact and effectiveness of DIC services and initiatives

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) degree from an accredited medical school required; specialization in a relevant field such as family medicine, public health, or addiction medicine preferred.
  • Minimum of Three years of clinical experience, with a strong background in primary care, addiction medicine, reproductive health, or related areas.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in healthcare management, program coordination, or public health administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of healthcare professionals and support staff.
