Job Description

The district coordinator is responsible for continuous coordination of staff, stakeholders, beneficiaries, and the local community and oversees the correct and on-time implementation of all components of the project.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Lead and supervise the district education team in delivering community-based education interventions in the appointed province.
  2. Undertake an active role in the quality implementation of educational activities including Community Based Education (CBE), School Improvement Plan (SIP), and Education First Phase Response (EFPR).
  3. Take an active role in community mobilizations/community sensitizations to increase community participation in project implementation through engaging them in activities and interventions.
  4. Ensure all required teaching and learning materials (TLMs) are provided and available in CBE classes and/or relevant public schools.
  5. Facilitate the handover process of CBE classes to hub schools and ensure that all required documents are provided according to the CBE policy.
  6. Collaborate, set and review monthly targets and weekly work plans for project staff to ensure that the detailed implementation plan is delivered and achieved on time within the assigned scope and budget.
  7. Design and participate in field-based needs assessments and gap analysis including risk and vulnerability and students mapping assessment.
  8. Establish and strengthen the meaningful working relationships with project stakeholders such as donors, UN agencies, Education Cluster, government
  9. Ensure that the program is appropriately staffed with diverse experienced backgrounds and ensure that work plans, objectives, development goals, and clear lines of communication and reporting are updated.
  10. Support the Executive Team in the provision of field assessment reports and developing the project concept notes, proposals, and strategic and programmatic documents.
  11. Provide strong leadership, vision, and direction to provincial/district level project staff to ensure the delivery of program targets.
  12. Ensure effective monitoring and performance management are in place for achieving prior agreed program activity targets.
  13. Lead the preparation, review and regular revision of the detailed implementation plan, taking into account agreed milestones, log frame and budget.
  14. Capacity building of district-level staff on the technical implementation of education in emergencies (EiE) or other Education program-related components.
  15. Provide support to Education Department on recruitments, contracts, payments of teachers, and other community-based education staff.
  16. Ensure the effective and donor-compliant management of the project budget through close collaboration with finance, supply chain and relevant departments.
  17. Ensure that key project documentation is archived at provincial and field level, and field staff is aware of what needs to be kept and recorded.
  18. Ensure the internal controls in the fields of finance, supply chain, community-based staff recruitment, selection of children is satisfactory and that fraud, corruption, nepotism and diversion is minimized
  19. Any other related task as assigned by Education Officer, Program Manager and/or Senior Management Team (SMT).

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, management or a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of proven experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of labor legislation and payroll processes.
  • Good understanding of the full recruitment process.

Note:- There is a three months of probationary period for all staff, Incase the employee fails to fulfill the requirements or completion of given tasks during this period OCCD can end his/her contract immediately.
