About Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA)

SCA Background

The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) has been working in Afghanistan since 1982, presently managing development Programs concerning Health, Education, Rural Livelihoods and Community Governance, with a total annual budget of roughly USD 40 million. The total number of staff is slightly over 7,386.During the last 10 years SCA has undertaken a change process moving from a primarily humanitarian service delivery approach towards more of a developmental role, putting increasing emphasis on capacity development, rights-based programming, and outcome orientation. The mission of SCA is to empower individuals, communities, and local organizations, primarily in rural areas and with particular focus on women, girls, boys and vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, so that they may participate fully in society and influence their own development. Job Description

  • Develop Open Data Kit and Excel databases.
  • Manage RDP - Mazar documentation site.
  • Develop virtual MIS filing systems.
  • Analyze RDP data to contribute to evaluation reports.
  • Input collected information into databases through smart phones and/or PCs in a timely manner.
  • Review and clean data to ensure quality, accuracy, completeness.
  • Translate interviews and survey responses.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports to RD Grant & Loan Officer summarizing tasks completed, challenges encountered and possible solutions.
  • Participate in trainings on data collection techniques and data analysis.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor in relation to project monitoring, evaluation, and data analysis.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, ethics, integrity, confidentiality and respect for the respondents.
  • Abide by applicable SCA policies and procedures.
  • To travel in the RDP’s coverage areas as per the need.
  • Perform any other job-related duty assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, statistics, GIS or related field

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of progressive experience in similar role.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation of projects.
  • Experience in data collection and database management
  • Experience from working as a Database Assistant or similar positions in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Experience with additional database and data analysis software preferred.
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Excellent Knowledge of English.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
