Job Description

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports the IRC Focal Point to maintain up to date information on needs and opportunities for support in the province.
  • Ensure regular support, follow-up and monitoring of the planning, development, and implementation of project activities with special consideration of marginalized and disadvantaged groups and gender issues.
  • Manage, mentor and coordinate with provincial team (Master Teacher Trainers and Community Mobilizers) for enabling them to ensure successful accomplishment of province level targeted activities, trainings, events/ campaigns, meetings, and overall performance of community-based education services.
  • Guide provincial staff for ensuring closer coordination with MoE’ s local authorities (PED, DED, and SMS), coordinate field visits by various external visitors (donors, National Level staff, study/evaluation team, central government representatives, media etc.)
  • Providing strategic suggestions on decisions related to program implementation, ensuring they are made in a participatory and collective manner.
  • Make all efforts as education coordination officer to provide technical and administrative support for the proper organization and management of activities in close cooperation with all stakeholders.
  • Maintaining regular coordination and liaison with PED, DED, Hub Schools, and other government institutions in relation to the provision of substantial support to organize and deliver quality trainings, workshops and meetings.
  • Make sure to spend at least 60% of time in the field visits
  • To assist any other relevant tasks that may emerge as important during this assignment, and which deems to be appropriate for the Project Manager.  

 

Job Requirements

  • Ability to builds strong relationships with CSOs and other relevant stakeholders, focuses on impact and result for the stakeholders and responds positively to feedback
  • Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude.
  • Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates openness to change and ability to manage complexities.
  • Demonstrates strong administrative skills and results oriented approach to work.
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Education, social science / Public Administration/ International Relations/ Law/ Management, Development Studies or in any other related subjects.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in providing program support to field level with involving international organizations/ national governments or community.
  • Experience working with international organizations or international donor supported programs would be an advantage.
  • Practical experience working with the local government, women empowerment, awareness building, capacity building, community mobilization, Liaison, and other relevant areas.
  • Having project Monitoring and Reporting skills is required.
  • Experience with project management would be considered an asset.
  • Strong skills on MS office, Ability to write reports/ letters in English, Dari, and Pashto Languages.
  • Good communication skills and effectively maintain liaison with the relevant stakeholders.
  • The candidate must have excellent written and verbal skills in English, Dari and Pashto
  • Higher education on social science or any other relevant subjects. Master degree would be consider as an advantage.
