Job Description

Position summary:

Computer trainer will be responsible for developing or refine the training modules on computer programs including installing and maintaining computer systems functional. He/she will also “train” the adolescents and youths in MYC on computer programs such as MS Office, internet use, installation of software etc. He/ she must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks, and operating systems.

Specific duties and responsibilities:

Assess the youth’s capacity related to computer programs
Prepare a lesson plan based on the assessment findings
Develop computer training modules based on needs
Prepare computer training plan
Conduct computer training to adolescents and youths visiting MYCs
Assess the trainees on regular bases and provide feedback to trainees for improvement
Check computer hardware to ensure functionality.
Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to the specifications
Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
Provide orientation and guidance to the user on how to operate new software and computer equipment

Perform troubleshooting to diagnose, and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
Other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager

Job Requirements

Qualification:

Academic Background and Knowledge/ Experience

Bachelor’s Degree preferably in relevant disciplines (e.g., computer science, Information Technology, software development) with four years of working experience,
Additional qualification or certification of IT and computer programs
In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles

Skills

Excellent communication skills both in writing and oral including presentation, networking, and interpersonal skills: English, Pashto, Dari
Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Should be familiar with the area’s cultural traditions and its sensitiveness
Good reporting writing skills
Data management skills and familiar with applications e.g., Kobo and other related programs
