Community Action for Healing Poverty Organization (CAHPO) is Afghanistan-based NGO (www.chapo.com ) has been established in 2013 by a group of expertise in support of professional advisers and volunteers in response to the needs. was that people affected by different means of violence should be involved in decision-making for positive change in the development process of the country. 

CAHPO is a member of different coordination bodies E.g ACBAR where we share our programs with other NGOs and partners.  CAHPO is an active partner of UN OCHA, AHF, and FAO.

Job Description

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The community worker will report to the District Coordinator. The post requires an excellent knowledge of the village/community dynamics in the South of Afghanistan. S/He will have to work closely with the Project Team, to ensure that the communities are will organized and participate actively in the project implementation. Implement the project activities as outlined in the work plan and stipulated under S/N 5 below.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Implement the related tasks of community mobilization of CAHPO’s FAO funded project in three districts of Helmand province.
  2. Selection of communities and or village for the program as per the criteria
  3. Selection of beneficiaries as per the criteria and entry in Kobo Tool Box. 
  4. Preparing community and beneficiaries profile.
  5. Distribution of inputs for livestock, poultry, mushroom, greenhouses, summer crop and wheat seed distribution, solar dryer and prepare related document attested by the related local CDCs and shuras.
  6. Preparing beneficiaries’ lists as per the provided format.
  7. Preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
  8. Provision of technical training to farmers on item mentioned in serial number 5.
  9. Maintain a good work to achieved good quality outputs
  10. Organize and scheduling field visits, training sessions, meetings with local leaders as well as women groups as appropriate.

  12. Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to CAHPO and to not jeopardize its mission.

Job Requirements

This position requires a minimum a Bachelor’s Degree or 2-5 years of experience focused in agriculture with experiences in community mobilization, demand-driven projects, participatory planning and rural/community development. Training in community mobilization and rehabilitation required.  Training experience of impoverished rural areas. Capacity to undertake travel to rural areas is needed. Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in written. Effectively coordinate with community and district, the program activities. This position requires excellent command of Pashto and English. This post requires a high computer literacy with a full knowledge of Office applications.
