SEO is a local NGO founded in 2008 to assist in humanitarian aid, education, returnees, internally Displaced People (IDPs), economic development, demand-driven vocational training, apprenticeship, income generation projects, and legal assistance. SEO's current projects in Afghanistan include Emergency Response, Food Assistance Distribution, Education, Legal Assistance, and Economic Growth for marginalized populations, Returnees, Internally Displaced Persons, and vulnerable families.

Job Description

Overview: The Community Outreach and Engagement Officer will be responsible for mobilizing and engaging community members, particularly women, to participate in the project. This role involves building relationships with local leaders, organizations, and potential beneficiaries to ensure widespread program awareness and participation.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement:
- Develop and implement a community engagement strategy to raise awareness about the program.
- Conduct outreach activities, including community meetings, information sessions, and media campaigns.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Build and maintain relationships with local NGOs, community leaders, and other key stakeholders.
- Facilitate collaboration between the program and community-based organizations.
Recruitment and Support:
- Identify and recruit eligible women to participate in the program.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to participants throughout the program duration.
Advocacy and Awareness:
- Lead advocacy initiatives to promote the benefits of remote and home-based employment for women.
- Organize events and campaigns to challenge societal norms and perceptions about women’s work.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Community Development, Social Work, Communications, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in community outreach or engagement.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
Proficiency in Dari/Pashto, and English.
