About Norwegian Afghanistan Committee

The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) is a member-based solidarity organization that has been working in support and solidarity with the Afghan people for more than 35 years. The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) has a zero tolerance of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH) both within the organization and of beneficiaries. Prevention of and protection from sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH) is the individual and collective responsibility of all NAC officers, management, staff, consultants, and volunteers, who are all required to familiarize themselves with, agree to, and act in accordance with NAC’s Ethical Guidelines and Commitment, NAC Child Protection Policy, and NAC PSEAH Policy, at all times – both during and outside working hours – and participate actively in introductory and refresher trainings. Any breaches of PSEAH clauses in NAC’s policies, guidelines, and/or commitments will lead to immediate termination and possible legal actions.

Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement all mobilization activities for male and female project beneficiaries, and make sure that appropriate community mobilization curricula, materials, and discussion guidelines are prepared, reviewed, updated, and followed.
  • Collaborating with the project coordinator to design a community mobilization strategy.
  • Support to conduct project-relevant data collection in the project coverage area.
  • Support project and provincial team to implement project activities in the community with innovative ideas.
  • Work with other project staff to select project implementation sites and project beneficiaries.
  • Socialization and verification of project beneficiaries based on project selection criteria.
  • Provide on-time support and information sharing with project beneficiaries in any event or time of input distribution.
  • Carry out the beneficiary household selection through KOBO.
  • Conduct training sessions delivered to vulnerable households.
  • Provide support to the M&E Officer for proper documentation of distributed items and other activities.
  • Any other activities assigned by the provincial project lead and or supervisor.

 

Specific Deliverables:

  • Support project documentation and develop humanitarian success stories.

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Further duties may be required from the duty holder based on the nature of NAC projects. The post is leading an emergency team, and it may require responding to emergencies on time.

Job Requirements

Languages Required:

  • Fluent in Dari
  • Good at Pashto
  • Good in English (typing for data collection)

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, and education or law 

 

Work Experience:

  • Two years of experience in relevant field.
  • Complete experience with household surveys
  • Integrity and accountability.
  • Good communication
  • Skill to deliver awareness messages to the community members.
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.

 

Skills:

  • Ability to type in English.
  • Skill to utilize data collection tools.
  • Organizational Skills.
  • Self-confident while doing the job.
