HHOA’s vision is to provide opportunity for all to achieve fullest potential and participate in and contribute to all aspects of life with pride and dignity. Afghanistan has made significant progress in Education sector, as per officially confirmed statistics from the Ministry of Education, today there are over 9 million students of whom %39 are girls participating in formal education – including Public and private schools, Community Based Education (CBE) in Afghanistan.
However, there are still millions out of school children face many challenges in having access to quality education and learning opportunities. Girls in particular are more on the receiving end of these challenges with limited or no access to education in parts of the country.
HHOA works at gross root level and has expertise in delivering programs such as education, vocational skills training, child protection, gender based violence, WASH in schools and communities, healthy communities, greening Afghanistan and alternative livelihoods over the years.
Job Description:
1. Assist the community members and elders in establishing School (Shuras) to monitor and support the education activities in the community.
2. Visits communities (IDPs and host community) for awareness raising regarding the importance of education especially girls education.
3. Work with community members to identify education needs create work plan and assure that they are supporting the education program and School (Shura) members.
4. Strong oral and written communication skills in local language (Dari/Pashto)
5. Knowledge of the local community structure dynamics and development.
6. Give support to the monitoring and evaluation team while performing their activities in the field.
7. In collaboration with the education officer will mobilize the community to support the child friendly school model
8. Ensure the implementation of agreed plans at the field level to achieve quality results on time.
9. Mobilize communities (leaders, parents, etc.) and disseminate information about the project to promote community support.
10. Submit regular updates, reports and case studies on success stories and lessons learned
11. Collect data from the field
12. Conduct, together with other Education colleagues, teachers` professional development activities
13. Any other related functions as may be required by the supervisor.
