ABOUT THE JOB
Develop and maintain good relations with the persons of concern, relevant stakeholders, and other humanitarian actors, to support adequate implementation and coordination of DRC’s sector activities.
To liaise with local authorities, communities’ elders, and local stakeholders to facilitate the DRC HDP projects operations, particularly focusing on areas where DRC has operational projects or has plans for future projects/operations.
Providing reports to the site operation officer.
Responsibilities:
The Community Liaison Assistant (CLA) is responsible to facilitate meetings with local authorities, community elders and local stakeholders for access to hard-reach areas and to make sure that the activities carried out by DRC are going smoothly and safe.
The Community Liaison Assistant (CLA) should deliver the basic messages to the local authorities, community elders, and local stakeholders and be able to recognize and recommend further communication by DRC HDP teams where necessary (especially in the areas where has/have cultural sensitivities.
The Community Liaison Assistant (CLA) must insure to have specific information about security or any other issues in the targeted communities/districts and provide advice to the HMA Team Leader and Operation Officer, prior to the deployment of DRC HDP teams in the area.
Obtain all appropriate information from official government bodies and main actors in the area of operation about the security situation.
Escort/assist the DRC HDP teams coveys while they have missions or trips from one location to another location if required.
Be aware of the security alerts and evacuation routes in case of security collapse in the area of operations and establish an evacuation plan in close coordination with HMA Team Leader and Operation Officer.
Establish and maintain liaison with local authorities and community elders/actors all the time in the area of operations.
Undertake any other tasks as assigned by the HMA Team Leader or Operation Officer.

To be successful in this role you must have:

Local Authorities, DoRR, MoEC, ANDMA, DoLSAMD, DMAC, and Humanitarian NGOs
Experience: (include years of experience)
Preferably 3 years relevant professional experience in community liaison.
Education/qualifications:
High school graduation and or intermediate.
Languages: (indicate fluency level)
Fluent spoken and written Dari/Pashtu and English is optional.
