About Concern Worldwide- Afghanistan

Identity: Concern Worldwide is a non-governmental, international, humanitarian organization dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries. Currently, Concern has been working in Afghanistan since 1998, when it responded to an earthquake disaster in Takhar province.  Currently Concern has been working in Takhar and Badakhshan provinces undertaking both emergency response and long term developmental work in the areas of livelihood security, primary education and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene.

Job Description

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide regular awareness to the targeted community about the progress of the project activities and community complaint and feedback mechanisms.

ارائه آگاهی منظم به جامعه مورد هدف در مورد پیشرفت فعالیت های پروژه و میکانیزم رسیدگی به شکایت.

  • Ensure impartial and transparent planning and implementation of project activity to develop trust, tolerance and co-operation among community and community leaders.

اطمینان از پلانگذاری و تطبیق بی‌طرفانه و شفاف فعالیت‌های پروژه برای ایجاد اعتماد و همکاری میان جامعه و رهبران جامعه.

  • Identify community dividers to ensure the reduction of tensions through project activities.

برای اطمینان از کاهش تنش ها از طریق فعالیت های پروژه، تقسیم کنندگان جامعه را شناسایی کنید.

  • In collaboration with the Project Officer, facilitate discussions with community leaders and CDC to try out new ways and means to find solutions to their needs and problems

با همکاری مسئول پروژه، در برگذاری جلسات با رهبران جامعه و شوراهای انکشافی سهولت آوری می کند

  • Collate and maintain all village specific data and information and share this with the Project Officer, Humanitarian Program Manager and MEAL team as per the established templates.

همه ارقام، معلومات مورد نیاز را از ساحات کاری گردآوری و همرای مسوول پروژه و تیم نظارت و ارزیابی شریک می سازد

  • Organize participatory monitoring visits with governmental line agencies together with community level stakeholders.

سازماندهی بازدیدهای با همی با ادرات حکومتی و شرکای کاری

  • Conduct the assessment for the winterization need of the target communities.

تطبیق ارزیابی برای نیازسنجی نیازها برای مساعدت های زمستانی

  • Coordinate activities at district and provincial level

هماهنگی فعالیت ها در سطح ولسوالی کاری و ولایت مربوطه

  • Organize regular meetings (monthly, bi-monthly, etc) with beneficiaries for well planning and implementation of project activities.

سازماندهی و برگذاری جلسات دوامدار ماهوار همرای مستفیدین در مورد پلانگذاری و تطبیق فعالیت های پروژه.

  • collaboration with community members for identification of vulnerable and extremely poor people within the community according to Concern criteria

همکاری با اعضای جامعه مورد هدف در شناسایی افراد نهایت آسیب پذیر و فقیر به اساس میعارات کنسرن.

  • Provide project orientation/information session for community members and each beneficiary

برگذاری جلسات در معرفی پروژه همرای اعضای جوامع و مستقدین مورد هدف

  • Ensure regular information collection on each agreed indicators and reported through reports as per organizational and donor needs.

حصول اطمینان از گردآوری معلومات در مورد هر شاخصه موافقه شده و راپور دهی آن.

  • Develop and submit monthly work plans and submit report to line Manager.

تهیه و ارایه پلان و راپور ماهوار همرای مسوول پروژه.

 

Compliance to Concern Code of Conduct (CCoC):

  • Concern is committed in the prevention of harassment, exploitation, abuse and/or inappropriate behavior in the workplace. It is the responsibility of all Concern staff to adhere to Concern Code of Conduct[1] and its associated policies.

  • Ensure to bring to the attention of the relevant manager or the Human Resources manager within Concern any potential incident, abuse or concern that I witness, I am made aware of, or suspect, which appears to break the standards contained in this Code.

 

 CHS & Emergency:

  • Concern is committed to CHS to ensure downward accountability. Concern activities are guided by CHS standards in all stages both emergency and development projects /programs. In Afghanistan we also bounded our activities by Accountability framework and therefore any Afghanistan employees are responsible to comply with CHS principles and benchmarks as instructed by its policies and therefore make sure that you accept and implement CHS standards in all your activities.

حمایت کامل در ارتباط به حالات اضطراری زمانیکه به وقوع می پیوندد در هر موقیعت که کنسرن افغانستان می خواهد به آن پاسخ دهد.

 

Job Requirements

Qualification & Experience:

  • At least High School graduated (12th class) + Experience or University Degree (Literature, Social Science, Law or relevant qualification)
  • Experience of working with the communities in remote villages for at least 3 years.
  • Demonstrated ability in community organizing and mobilization work
  • Experience working with poor, marginalized and disable people.
  • Strong understanding of gender equality, equity and social justice.
  • Experience in designing and delivering trainings.
  • Proficiency in applying PRA tools and approaches

Competencies and Personal Attributes:

  • Ability to work in team and in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Tactful and sensitive to local culture, norms and practices
  • Able to communicate effectively and be understood
  • Ability to work autonomously requiring less supervision.
  • High motivation and ability to adapt to changing needs of the community, project or situation.
  • Excellent listening and facilitating skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of other local languages i.e. Uzabeki, Turkmani, Pashtu is an advantage.
  • Excellent documentation skills and ability to organize documents in an orderly manner.

Working Conditions:

  • Will be based in the district and will be working in remote villages that may involve some physical hardship and little comfort.
  • Will be responsible to cover at least 5-10 villages depending upon proximity and target population.
  • Will be staying in villages and work with the community.
  • Will be provided with basic working tools and supplies.
