Women for Afghan Women (WAW) is a grassroots civil society organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the rights of disenfranchised Afghan women and girls in Afghanistan and New York. In particular, WAW works to help Afghan women and girls exercise their rights to pursue their individual potential to self-determination and to representation in all areas of life—political, social, cultural, and economic. WAW relentlessly advocates for women’s rights and challenges the norms that underpin gender-based violence to influence attitudes and bring about change.
Job Overview
Under the supervision of the WAW area manager, the LTS Communication Officer is responsible for the visibility, data analysis, and reporting of the LTS Project. The LTS Communication Officer will work with LTS team leaders and the HQ reporting coordinator to collect, analyze, and report the data as per the requirements of the partner and program. The communications officer is responsible for managing external and internal communications for LTS, including the promotion of a positive public image through publications of LTS success stories, lessons learned, and recommendations, and overseeing the dissemination of information on LTS behalf.
