Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The basic role of this position is the effective implementation of the Life-saving shelter project in Kapisa Province Project. The post holder will ensure that project activity is well understood and accepted by the target community and based on ESNFI standards and guidelines also ensures that the best approach for effective and standardized project implementation considering Building Back Better is in place.

 

Specifically, project engineers will have the following responsibilities:

 

Direct program implementation:

  • Conduct technical surveys for the identification of infrastructure Projects
  • Assist project coordinator in drawing, cost estimation, and tracking of budget
  • Actively attend community mobilization sessions, project site selection & beneficiary selection Process additionally attend district and community level meetings.
  • Overall responsible for the implementation of infrastructure projects in the field
  • In close collaboration with the site engineer. make sure to involve community members, CDC, district authority, and provincial line departments in the planning. implementation and closure Stages of the projects
  • Make sure to have very strong communication and coordination with government line Departments and any other NGOs
  • Conduct on need base meetings with stakeholders at the district and provincial levels, and keep them on a loop of progress, challenges, and project implementation process
  • Prepare filed mission. Project progress and project completion reports and draft long and short stories
  • Assist M&E unit to conduct project data collection
  • Prepare all financial related documents and submit to  project coordinator to the review
  • Make sure to have very strong documentation of all activities within the office and project site
  • Assist the M&E unit in conducting case studies
  • Assist the M&E unit for collecting data from the field (baseline, midline, and final evaluation)
  • Actively participate in any disaster Assessment response and prepare the assessment report
  • Any other task assigned by the supervisor based on to need

 

Supervision:

  • Facilitate project and activities information at all events Prepare and implement an action plan for quality monitoring 
  • Facilitate project and activities information at all events such as training and workshops

 

Reports and coordination:

  • Coordination about the NACs activities under the shelter and NFI project and building effective coordination and cooperation among all stakeholders
  • Data collection and writing periodic reports weekly, bi-weekly and monthly reports, besides the distribution reports.
 

Job Requirements

Language requirements:

  • Local language with proffered English

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum BA in civil engineering.
  • Proffered working experience in implementing construction projects, shelter and housing projects, cash for work, small infrastructures projects, and foreman for construction projects.
  • Proffered those who were part of the emergency assessment team.
  • Local candidates will be preferred

 

Work Experience Required:

  • At least three years of work experience in infrastructure/construction-related projects, any emergency response project, shelter and housing projects.

 

Skills Required:

  • Good training skills on DRR and construction topics
  • Working in emergency teams
  • Being part of assessment team
  • Good skill of coordination and cooperation with local communities
  • Should have understanding of local norms and culture
