Job Purpose
The Child Protection (CP)Trainer will directly report to the project coordinator, he/she will responsible for providing capacity-building support of child protection staff and CPANs on child rights and protection, the 6 grave rights violations to create awareness in the community on child protection issues and support provision of and or referral for specialized child protection services
The holder will be responsible for: -
In close coordination with the project coordinator and CP Advisor assess and identify cpacity building needs in the areas of child protection needs.
Develop a capacity-building plan to facilitate capacity-building activities like training, ongoing coaching, and mentorship sessions to WCUK and partners and community-based child protection structures.
Develop, adapt and customize external training material to facilitate training of the WCUK and partner and the community-based child protection structures on relevant child protection topics.
Organize and conduct training as per the intended topics and needs
Conduct field monitoring visits with the MEAL team to establish capacity gaps and develop strategies.
Implement capacity building plan for selected CP staff and produce regular reports on progress and challenges based on an agreed template.
Ensures proper documentation and custody of capacity-building information including pre and post-tests analysis and others. Draft narrative and financial reports and submit to the coordinator.
Contribute to creating a culture committed to the safeguarding of children and adults and compliant to War Child’s Child Safeguarding and Adults at Risk Policies.

Experience and mandatory criteria:
University Degree in Social Science or Social Work or relevant field;
Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil society capacity building or similar role preferably in humanitarian INGOs.
Experience of managing grants for civil society strengthening
Good understanding of donor compliance and requirements for civil society grants.
Good understanding of civil society monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.
Good understanding of child protection including CPiE standards.
Ability to work well under pressure and work to deadlines
Excellent communication skills, in particular in written English;
Excellent coordination, facilitation, and negotiation skills
Proficiency in English and local languages (both written and verbal)
Good report writing and presentation skills
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
