SADA is a non-governmental, non-for-profit and non-political humanitarian and development organization. SADA was founded in 1994 when Afghanistan was severely affected by internal war and access to any humanitarian facilities and services was practically debarred. SADA was established with a vision of “To alleviate poverty and human sufferings to see educated, self-reliant, peaceful and developed Afghanistan” by enhancing access to quality, safe and free education, improving health conditions, upgrading local agriculture & irrigation systems, increasing awareness around hygiene and sanitation, and advocating for the rights of women & children.
SADA started its first operation in 1996 in Kandahar province by implementing a UNOPS funded WASH project with the total value of $12,657. SADA gradually expanded its operations across the southern region by developing partnerships with UNOPS, UNDP, UNWFP, UNICEF, UNHCR, Malala Fund, Street Child/Children in Crisis, GPE, JICA, Action Aid, ZOA Refugee Care, Royal Netherland Embassy, PRT and the government of Afghanistan.
SADA is able to successfully implement hundreds of small and large humanitarian and development projects in several sectors in different parts of the country, which have greatly contributed in improving the living conditions of hundreds of thousands of needy people. SADA through its community-based-approach built up strong relations with communities and gained a special acceptance among them. On the basis of service delivery, the organization has created excellent reputation among donor organizations, partner organization, government officials and other stakeholders.
SADA is headquartered in Kabul and currently has sub offices in Samangan, Kandahar, Zabul, Helmand, Sari-Pul, Faryab and Urozgan provinces.
General Responsibilities
The Child Protection Officer will perform the following functions:
Support SADA to enhance the integration of project concepts and activities during the implementation of the project.
Contribute to the development and revision of project strategies based on Privincial context and current global trends in the project and related fields.
Setting up mechanisms to ensure that project activities are aligned with the project strategies.
Work closely with the M&E team to ensure that MEAL has an ongoing project focus and that this is captured in reporting through the development and use of gender-sensitive monitoring and evaluation.
Support the project reporting for periodic to synthesize data on the project accomplishments.
Collaborate with sub implementation partner staff, teachers and social workers to ensure that the culture of gender equality is integrated in all project activities.
Participate collaboratively in the development and implementation of gender-sensitive programming, including work planning, reporting, and capturing lessons learned/best practices.
Contribute to the development of project communication materials with the Project focus.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Ensure child protection risks and strategies are assessed on a regular basis.
Strengthening of child protection coordination mechanisms.
Identify protection issues and services that affect children at risk
Establishment and support of monitoring and evaluate the child protection system.
Regular monitoring of the implementation of programs and providing technical support to the project staff and partners.
Support capacity building and training for Child Protection staff.
Coordinate with other agencies, governments, and NGOs to implement and coordinate common standards.
Cooperate and Coordinate with the Protection cluster to ensure that child protection issues are part of all initiatives and documents.
Preparation of annual and donor reports as well as other documentation related to child protection programs.
Participate in all meetings and providing reports to the project manager on weekly basis.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, law, human rights, and child protection
Work Experience:
4-6 years of work experience related to education projects
