This role is vital to ensuring the acquisition of accurate, high-quality subsurface data that guides reservoir management and enhances production efficiency.

The position demands a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of reservoir logging techniques, a proven track record in field operations, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams. This role combines hands-on field leadership with strategic oversight, making it central to the success of our oilfield operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership in Logging Operations

  • Develop and oversee comprehensive logging programs, ensuring alignment with production and reservoir management objectives.
  • Plan and execute wireline, open-hole, and production logging operations tailored to crude oil extraction processes.
  • Act as the technical authority on-site, providing real-time decision-making support during critical logging activities.

2. Advanced Data Acquisition and Analysis

  • Supervise the collection and interpretation of subsurface data, including porosity, permeability, fluid saturation, and pressure.
  • Integrate data from advanced tools such as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), resistivity logs, and dipole sonic tools into reservoir models.
  • Provide actionable insights to enhance field development plans and optimize hydrocarbon recovery.

3. Technology Deployment and Innovation

  • Lead the adoption of advanced logging technologies to improve accuracy and efficiency in reservoir evaluation.
  • Evaluate emerging tools, techniques, and software, recommending improvements to logging operations.
  • Collaborate with technology providers to customize solutions for AfgChin's specific field challenges.

4. Collaboration and Team Coordination

  • Work closely with reservoir engineers, production teams, and geoscientists to align logging data with broader field goals.
  • Act as a bridge between field teams and the management, ensuring clear communication and alignment of objectives.
  • Coordinate with drilling and completion teams to schedule and execute logging activities effectively.

5. Training and Capacity Building

  • Mentor junior engineers and field technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Organize training sessions and workshops to enhance team understanding of advanced logging methods and tools.
  • Develop technical guidelines and standard operating procedures for logging activities.

6. Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure all logging operations comply with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company standards.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management.
  • Contribute to audits, reviews, and assessments of field operations to identify opportunities for improvement.

7. Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting

  • Identify and address challenges during logging operations, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
  • Develop contingency plans and implement best practices to mitigate risks in high-pressure field environments.
