Knowledge and Rehabilitation Organization (KRO)
Knowledge and Rehabilitation Organization (KRO) is a national level, non-political, non-profitable, non-governmental organization working for humanitarian and rehabilitation roots in Afghanistan. KRO is an Afghan organization that is committed to the development of the local economy and building local capacity for sustainable development.
The Case Worker will directly report to the Case Worker Supervisor/Provincial Project Manager, the CP
Case Worker will be dealing with the registration of Child Protection cases in the Urozgan and Zabul
Provinces throughout Project life, Case worker will be responsible to intervene with all Case
Management activities in the various CFS’s, communities/Districts of Urozgan and Zabul Provinces, to
ensure the provision of quality case management services delivery to the affected children, coordinate
with relevant stakeholders involved in case management, the Case worker will ensure that case
management activities are consistent with KRO’s programming principles and approaches as well as with
Global child protection standards & principles, draw on relevant best practices and lessons learned, to enable children to attain their rights and are compliant with donor regulations
1. Identify cases of children at risk of protection concerns, including; the worst forms of
child labor, child abuse, unaccompanied and separated children and other child protection
concerns NEVA.
2. Provide case management services in line with the KRO’s Standard Operating Procedures
for case management & Global Child Protection Case Management Guidelines.
3. Conduct outreach to assess and provide support to the child during CFS’s and Targeted
communities visits.
4. The case worker will be independent, responsible ensuring case actions plans and
relevant administrative forms that facilitate accountability & planning are updated on a
daily and weekly basis.
5. The case worker will commit to maintaining excellent documentation of case
management files in line with the KRO’s SOPs and other relevant processes.
6. The case worker will assume full responsibility to assess the level of risk that a child is
exposed to and immediately report any cases that could evolve into high-risk cases to the
direct line Manager (Case management Supervisor, then Provincial Project Manager, then
CP Project Manager).
7. Persist to conduct mapping of services to ascertain which services are included in specific
areas and striving to facilitate access to services for the child and their family even if the
process requires thinking outside of the box, advocating to management, working groups,
national entities and relevant authorities to facilitate.
8. Represent KRO’s well by maintaining regular communication with external referral
agencies for service provision, & understanding the relevant criteria.
Reporting
1. Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports on case management activities.
2. Prepare and submit case visits reports.
3. Prepare success stories on case management activities with good quality pictures.
4. Contribute in documenting the response, experience and lessons learned on child
protection and Case Management.
5. Provide input to the development of the child protection intervention.

Education:
Technical diploma or degree in psychology, social work, human rights, or related degree
preferred.
Years of Experience:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience of implementing child protection programs, preferable
social work or case management, in humanitarian or development settings.
Skills:
Commitment to serving children, do no harm and best interests’ principles.
Strong believer in children being agents of change in their communities.
Technical Competency:
Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable
children.
Personal qualities:
Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure well and work in cross-
cultural setting.
Communication and reporting skills:
Strong believer in children being agents of change in their communities;
Fluency in Pashto, Dari and English
Computer skills:
(Including MS Word, Excel, Access, and internet) an advantage
Ability to work closely, professionally, and constructively with all others regardless of
nationality, ethnicity, gender, religion, race, tribe, or cultural background
