Job Description

ASCHIANA is a non-governmental and nonprofit philanthropic organization who work from 1996 support street working and war affected children in Afghanistan work with vulnerable and disadvantaged, and help them improve their quality of life for the purpose of breaking the cycle of poverty by providing them with the means to better their own future. To improve the social, economic, physical, cultural and mental situation of vulnerable groups of children, and to focus on basic education as a means to do that. ASCHIANA support the children and their families morally and emotionally throughout, teach them educational, protection, nutrition and other life skills.

Aschiana is implementing a project titled “Support the most vulnerable children and their families through the provision of integrated, age-appropriate and gender-transformative child protection interventions”, funded by UNICEF. The project is based on to address the pressing protection concerns of children from most vulnerable and underserved communities including internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by the complex humanitarian emergency, children living in the streets and working in hazardous situation, unaccompanied and separated children / minors or children on move, women and girls at risks and victims of GBV in Kabul and Parwan provinces.

 

Job Description:

The Case management worker would be required to will ensure his/her contribution in the value-based culture including transparency, information sharing, equal participation, open communication, team building, subsidiary and gender concerns in the Child Protection Project, at JRS and the field level especially when working with the project beneficiaries and at the same time at team and organizational level.

 Case management worker will be responsible for working with children and adolescents include children with minor crimes and street-working children in Juvenile Rehabilitation Center (JRC), Kabul. 

Under the close supervision and support of the, Defense lawyer, Project Officer and Project Coordinator, His/her major tasks/responsibilities will be:

  1.  Case Management Services:
  • To identify and register the vulnerable children and adolescents include street children in conflict with law and/or with minor crimes in JRC Kabul.
  • To assess the need of individual children and adolescent in JRC through a compressive case management.
  • Develop and individual case plan for children and adolescents accordingly and based to their cases.
  • To develop a comprehensive services mapping for each individual case of children and adolescents accordingly.
  • To implement the case plan by providing direct and indirect referral services of children and adolescents in JRC, Kabul.
  • Follow-upping and reviewing the case of children and adolescents based on the individual cases
  • Focus on and regularly assess the needs of children, ensuring that problems are tackled systematically in the best interests of the child
  • Keep JRC children informed about the status of their cases through regularly visiting them in JRC.
  • Liaise with project officers, defences lawyer, social workers and PSS counsellor on a regular basis keeping up-to-date with the development in the cases referred to the latter.
  • Liaise with the authorities and head of JRC, Kabul for comprehensive case management 
  • Attending meetings conferences trainings and workshops for keeping abreast with changes in the law and for improving and updating case management.

 

  1. Family Tracing and Reunification (FTR) services
  • To identify unaccompanied and separated children (UASC) children and adolescents in JRC, Kabul.
  • To provide with Family Tracing and Reunification (FTR) services
  • Enhancing the Family tracing and reunification for children and adolescent in JRC, Kabul.
  • Making sure the reunification of children and adolescent with their caregiver, family and community.
  • Involves Community Outreach and Sensitization Preventions of Separation messages for (UASC) children and adolescents.
  • Motivate and support family members for re-unification and re-integration of children with their families.
  •  Attending meetings conferences trainings and workshops for keeping abreast with changes in the law and for improving and updating about FTR and IDTR.

 

  1. Documentation, Reporting and Follow Up:
  • To collect beneficiaries’ data, fill case management tool and forms
  • Documenting the case of children and adolescents in case management tools and case hard copy if needed
  • Documenting the FTR and IDTR as part of case management
  • Ensure that the clients selected for case management services are according to the program’s selection criteria.
  • Provide inputs for internal and external reports.
  • Provide information according to project needs.
  • Keep a close liaison with the beneficiaries and their households through follow up sessions on regular basis.
  • Develop and maintain the necessary documentation and record of all delivered cases reports of clients.
  • Maintain and up-date all record at office level and ensure the confidentiality of client’s data.
  • Develop and submit daily activity reports in a given format.
  • Make continuous follow ups on the activities with the beneficiaries and inform the project management accordingly.
  • Document case studies and success stories.
  1. Capacity Building:
  • Participate in capacity building trainings, workshops and seminars.
  • Provide trainings and child protection awareness when needed.
  • Respect ASCHIANA child protection and PSEA policy and protection of beneficiaries from sexual exploitation and abuse and report to your line manager any non-respect of ASCHIANA’s policies amongst the teams or partners.
  • Any other duty assigned by the organization
 

Job Requirements

  • At least bachelor degree in related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in related field.
  • Excellent Case Management SOP is required
  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Application Tools: MS Office, Mail.
  • Should be able to speak fluently with both national languages Pashto and Dari 
  • Excellent Computer Skills are requiring (MS Office Mandatory)
  • Excellent writing and speaking of English Language (Mandatory)
  • Comfortable with working in all Communities and Different environment
  • Respectful behavior with staff and children.
  • Proper reporting skills are (Mandatory).
