Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific Duties:

  • Ensure the functionality of the case management system and oversee delivery of high-quality case management [BC1] in accordance with SOPs and global minimum standards. Protection assistance and services will prioritize persons experiencing high vulnerability, such as women and girls, children, socio-economic hardship, persons with disabilities and serious medical conditions, elderly persons, persons exposed to explosive hazard risk.
  • Support and guide case management teams in their day-to-day work ensuring adherence to key protection principles.
  • Provide guidance to teams on identification of protection risks and appropriate response, such as protection cash, individual protection assistance (IPA), and referrals, through one-to-one guidance or case review meetings as needed. Ensure that caseworkers are familiar with the criteria for identifying cases for protection cash and individual protection assistance. Oversee and ensure timely response and follow up protection cases.
  • Conduct regular meetings with case workers on lessons learned and best practices and provide feedback to the Sr. PRoL Officer
  • As relevant, collaborate with agencies and stakeholders in provision of assistance and services
  • Ensure capacity for teams to receive and make external referrals, with access to service mapping that is updated regularly.
  • As needed, coordinate with the protection monitoring officer and community-based protection officer in identifying protection risks and trends. Protection monitoring teams and Community Protection Committees may make referrals to PRoL Case Management for protection assistance and response. The Case Management Officer will provide guidance to other PRoL teams on internal referral process.
  • Contribute to creation and dissemination of key protection messages including rights and available services
  • Participate in, and as needed organize regional/provincial protection meetings/workshops and provide feedback to Sr. PRoL Officer on discussions and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders including community leaders NGOs community-based organizations and other IRC sectors to enhance cooperation and coordination
  • Coordinate with PRoL Officers in other locations on project implementations.
  • Under the supervision of the Sr. PRoL Officer and PRoL Manager, monitor program budget and expenditure.
  • Provide regular progress reporting on cases to Snr. PRoL Officer and PRoL Manager for donor reporting.
  • Support Information Management Officer by providing data on PRoL cases and trends as requested perform other duties as requested.
 
 

 

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. social work, sociology, psychology, law)
  • Approximately 2 years of relevant experience, professional technical experience, including 1 year implementing humanitarian protection programs in emergency/conflict contexts
  • Experience in regular report writing
  • Experience with protection monitoring and case management preferred
  • Experience in designing and implementing surveys or assessments preferred
  • Good communication skills including ability to gain trust and build relationships with new communities
  • High standard of spoken and written Dari and Pashto (depending on location) and English
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word
