About Aga Khan Health Service-Afghanistan

Aga Khan Health Service, Afghanistan (AKHS,A), an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), is a long-term partner of the ‘Ministry of Public Health, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan’ for the implementation of “Basic Package of Health Services” in three provinces (Baghlan, Bamyan and Badakhshan), and implementation of Essential Package of  Hospital Service (EPHS) in Badakhshan and Bamyan province. AKHS-A is implementing three Community Midwifery Education Program Schools each in Bamyan, Badakhshan and Baghlan

Job Description

  • Taking part in Developing need-based training plans and implementing appropriate training programs for staffs in close coordination with line manager and Community Health Programs, Clinical Service departments, Provincial Health Program team and regional Capacity building Officers.
  • Follow and arrange trainings under all grants and projects to meet the deadlines.
  • Initiate staff training needs assessments and coordinate trainings based on need of organization and staff.
  • Network with FMIC, Aga Khan University Hospital and other key training institutions and stakeholders in the region and national.
  • Coordinate visas for nominated staffs and process their logistics arrangements with the operations and admin department.
  • Providing, following up and payment of the per diem cost to staff (if applicable) and training cost to relevant training centres.
  • Identify and coordinate the training material and books/periodicals required for resource centre in all the regions.
  • Entering training data to tracking data base for AKHS, staff.
  • Report the progress of trainings on monthly and quarterly basis to Training coordinator/officer.
  • Provide the variance in any training activity from the baseline plan prepared for donor reporting.
  • Carry out any other program related tasks assigned by the line manager.

Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor of social science, BBA or MD is preferred.

 Work Experience:

Three years or more than three years of relevant experience.

Skills:

Technical Skills: Excellent computer skills in PowerPoint, Excel and word document, able to work independently and can take initiative.

Other Skills: language proficiency in spoken and written Dari, Pashto, and Excellent knowledge of English language is required.

        Personal Characteristics:  flexible team player, tactfulness, clear understanding of the working context.
