Support in developing operational guidelines/SOP on the affordable and efficient renewable energy systems appropriate for the IDP and rural communities specially for the women.
• Lead and/or actively engage in conducting community level energy brief gap assessment to identify the priority areas for renewable energy in the target areas engaging the community and CDCs in the assigned areas.
• Finalize the potential activities and interventions in consultation with UNDP and expert consultants and other relevant departments and community
• Prepare the climate resilience intervention plans through inclusive community dialogues involving men, women, and youth for the assigned areas.
• Ensure the plans focused on the key energy solutions, water resource management, and income generations and cook-stoves in the areas
• Identify community-based models on renewable energy and ensure the implementation of the models to increase access to renewable energy for the assigned IDP and rural communities in targeted areas including the installation of solar panels.
• Ensure the delivery of renewable energy to the targeted rural households/project participants including women led households with proper technical and financial services as appropriate.
• Support to establish the community maintenance groups in consultation with CDCs, women and youth to ensure the sustainability of energy infrastructures.
• Provide on-the-job training to the Program Organizars community members for the better manage and supervise the renewable energy systems in their areas.
• Explore opportunities to provide safer and more economical, environmentally friendly cook stoves for households in targeted areas using solid fuels for clean cooking (less smoke and toxic emissions).
• Guide the field teams and build capacity of frontline staff to ensure the proper implementation of the renewable energy related interventions.
• Ensure the proper handover community based energy systems and water management systems to the community groups with proper documentation process and orientations
• Develop success stories and share with UNDP and BRAC management for impact monitoring and reporting.
• Develop and share lessons learnt and recommendations on the interventions to guide future
• programme designs.
• Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
• Prepare progress report and support for developing other relevant reports and presentations as required.
• Represent BRAC and ABADEI project attending relevant discussion, meetings, sessions with presentations, documents and updates
• Act as the member of the procurement team and advise for the technical specification of the items procured related to renewable energy
Minimum 3-4 Years experiences in renewable energy, solar and water management development projects. Work experiences in managing community based renewable energy projects in rural areas with development organizations, donor funded projects.
• Good organizational, communication, interpersonal, and team building skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication in English, Pashto and Dari, both written and spoken
• Good understanding and ability to manage the renewable energy, solar and water management projects in Afghanistan context

• Record keeping and documentation skill
• Bachelor Degree in renewable energy, Bachelor in engineering (preferably in electrical or civil), or any other relevant bachelor/engineering degree on subject from any recognized university with good academic results
