About AWEC

AWEC is a non-political, non-profit, woman-headed national organization established in 1991 by a group of educated Afghan women in exile, who rallied together to address the lack of facilities for Afghan refugees in Islamabad and eventually Peshawar, in Pakistan. AWEC has always been involved in advocacy and awareness-raising for women and children’s rights while providing services to those who frequently fall through safety nets. In recent years, one of AWEC’s core activities has been to support women through mobilizing Afghans, from local communities to political elites, towards the goal of reducing and eventually eliminating violence against women.

Job Description

Position Objective

Coordinate logistics related to purchasing and transportation within AWEC offices & other AWEC locations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Logistic

  • To support the procurement process of items required to implement the activities, including maintaining purchasing documentation, participating in purchasing committees, collecting quotations, checking the quality of the equipment and materials, etc.
    Receive and follow up on the purchasing documents from the supplier, register in procurement status, computerized data system and file them in the related active files for tracing/updating.
  • Receive the shipping documents from the supplier, register in procurement status, computerized data system and file them in the related active files for tracing/updating.
  • Assist in preparing monthly procurement status reports for the record.
  • Drafts exemption requests, have them signed, and submit them to the concerned location.
  • Liaise with local agents regarding the actual arrival time of consignments.

Administration

  • To prepare administration required to ensure smooth project implementation, e.g., supply requisition forms, comparative statements, payment vouchers, and casual workers contracts.
  • To look after the arrangement of meetings, workshops, and conferences of the related office.
  • Arrangement of personnel, vehicles, office, staff house, correspondence, and other files and keeping them proper and updated manually and computerized.
  • Maintain a log of generatorand vehicles fuel consumption and keep the recordand updating of the inventory of the fixed assets of the offices,
  • Keeping a record of office stationery, consumables, and material and ensuring proper availability of all needed resources.
  • To ensure all legal obligationsof the lease agreement and maintenance contracts are fulfilled and renewed promptly.
  • To ensure that all utility bills are paid on time.
  • To ensure a healthy and safe working environment is provided to all staff.
  •  Maintain staff attendance and leave register.
  • Maintain stores and stock records.
  • Coordinate the compilation of all district-level reports, ensuring that the provincial office promptly receives the reports.
  • Perform any other related duties as required.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • BA degree or equivalent professional certificate

Experience& Skills:  

  • At least 2to 3 years of work experience in a relevant field
  • University Degree in a relevant field
  • Fluent in Dari, Pashto, and English, written and spoken
  • Computer skills at the operator level, especially with MS. Office packages
  • Familiar with planning and report writing
  • Honest, active, and well mannered
  • Ready to work, live and travel in an intricate and strenuous
